About
I offer therapy services focusing on 50 minute, one-to-one sessions for adults presenting with low mood, anxiety, loss, addiction, race and acculturation issues. I also work with neuro-diverse children and young people (CYP) aged 8-18 years old incorporating play and psychoeducation offering mid level wellness coping interventions and have an enhanced DBS.
My approach is to practice with cultural sensitivity, neuro affirmativeness and community engagement, providing a safe space for individuals to heal and grow. I am dedicated to making a positive impact on mental health and wellbeing.

Therapy
Welcome! My name is Jacquie.
I imagine as you are here looking for a therapist, you may be finding it tricky and potentially a bit scary. If you feel that you are having to show up with a mask to present yourself as another person due to your race, identity, gender or sexuality then we can work to uncover who you really are. Or maybe all is not well for you and are low in your mood or feeling anxiety then I am here to support you. I am committed to working confidentially with my clients to keep them safe and contained in what can be challenging and uncertain times that they, and ultimately you, may be facing.
My approach is to listen non-judgementally, gently encourage expression of yourself, supportively question and be beside you to manage your emotions to where you are in a better place. I will work with you for an initial 8 sessions, discussing where you are at around session 6 to see if you will need more sessions and keep reviewing this.
I am a postgraduate diploma qualified integrative counsellor. Integrative simply means that I will be led by you as an individual and will provide a different approach depending on your circumstance past or present. I am also a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) which means I work to a code of ethics with your wellbeing interests at heart.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Why am I constantly overthinking and anxious or making no decisions at all? Can you help with this?
Sometimes you may have difficulty controlling endless thoughts and that is ok until it starts taking over your life. It can feel hard to try and trust yourself and that you know the answers. We call this losing sight of your inner compass and you start to rely on others’ opinions who may or may not have your best interest at heart. It can be useful to plan a possible outcome with a decision and look at a few scenarios and what emotions they bring up for you, deciding on what might be the best way to go by checking what will help you to grow so you might take a considered risk.
I need to find self love but am looking in all the wrong places. Will talking about it improve things?
You may be feeling very self critical and constantly down on yourself thinking that no one cares about you and going about life being self destructive because it feels that this is you or easier somehow. But how often have you felt able to give compassion to a friend or relative and found that it was easy when they needed support. So why does it feel harder to give this to yourself? When you experience less positive contact with people who put you down or show you less favourable understanding, it can leave you in a place of negative thoughts that do not belong to you but affect you greatly. Finding self compassion can enable healing and improvement as you are never the finished article giving more space to work on your self-esteem.
My job has burnt me out and I want to have some coaching to find my next move. Can you help?
It can be exhausting trying to get out of the door to your job or to your laptop at home to start the day of work as the questions, challenges and sheer weight of what you have to face make you want to lie down and go back to sleep. It can make you feel depressed, anxious and persistently stressed leading to the use of bad coping mechanisms like alcohol, other stimulants or overwork to manage. Unpacking your thoughts on how you got here and your needs for your career with guided questions can be a useful solution to understanding where you want to be in your career. Also what you value most in your life and regaining these if they have become lost or muddled in the exhaustion can be helpful in moving you forward.
I can help you with all of the above. In our sessions in Peckham, Croydon or online we can work at your pace, weekly in therapy or bi-weekly if it is a coaching issue, for you to make sense of how you will manage longer term.

"I found the sessions very effective and focused. What I found most useful were her questions that allowed me to become more focused on the outcome. In addition to that allowing me to search and deep dive into the root causes of why I wasn’t able to think appropriately to address the challenges that I had."
Corporate professional, London
“Jacquie’s warm and welcoming personality, coupled with her patience, created an environment where I felt supported. Her skilful questioning was particularly effective, guiding me to discover my own solutions, which I thought was brilliant. I’m deeply thankful for her time and efforts. It made a tangible difference in my confidence and overall personality.”
Entrepreneur (start-up), Surrey
“I found the sessions extremely useful in helping me to focus on my concerns, figure out what are the most important issues, and find ways to take action. Jacquie listened carefully to what I was saying and put my words at the centre of the process.
During the course of the sessions and since, I have taken actions which would not have happened without this coaching.”
